We are all aware of the rapidly changing situation regarding the spread of the above virus and its seriousness. We are particularly conscious of those of our membership who are considered to be at risk of contracting the virus and the significant restrictions that are being applied to public gatherings, large and small, in an endeavour to contain the virus.
HMS Eaglet have advised us that whilst the building currently remains open, the RNR have moved to another phase and that vulnerable groups are not to attend or be within the Unit.
As you are aware, demographically a large number of our members fall into that category!
The Officers of the Committee, following this advice and that announced by the Government and Health Authorities and acting in the best interest of our membership, are suspending our monthly lunches until advised that we may safely resume. We will also suspend committee meetings until further notice and make alternative arrangements to ensure the business of our Club continues efficiently, using electronic means of communication.
Meanwhile we propose to keep you updated on a regular basis, both on the web-site and email. For those who don’t have access to email we will mail updates to you.
Your support, cooperation and understanding for the measures we are taking will be much appreciated in these very uncertain times.
