More Than Just A Name on a Board

UPDATE TO THE BOOK
On Friday. 21st November, a Service of Rededication was held for the addition of names to the Roll of Honour in the Hall of Remembrance in Liverpool Town Hall.
Whilst researching the names on the Honours Board in HMS EAGLET, it was discovered that 13 of these men who made the ultimate sacrifice were not named in the Hall of Remembrance in the Town Hall which honours those servicemen and women who have fallen.
This was rectified at the Service attended by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Barbara Murray, Commodore Thomas Knowles, Naval Regional Commander Northern England, Cdr Richard Fletcher, CO HMS EAGLET, Lt Col David Hartley, CO Merseyside RMR, members of the Royal Naval Reserve Officers’ Club, Liverpool (the Sea Urchins) and HMS EAGLET Old and Bold Affiliation who accepted scrolls on behalf of the families of the men.
Members of the family of AB Alexander Campbell who drowned after the ship he was serving on, a Danish vessel, SS Bogatyr, was torpedoed, and then ran aground in bad weather off the Lincolnshire Coast in February 1916, were able to attend the ceremony. Fiona Richardson, a Great Niece of AB Campbell is shown receiving the scroll.
